#33 TE Tye Turner

Redshirt Junior, 6'3", 273 lbs.

Stats in 2013: Missed out on most of the season due to a neck injury, but managed to see the field in three games with one start (against Memphis). In those three games he was on the field for 40 total plays, but did not record any stats.

Spot on 2013 Depth Chart: Not listed.

How did he come to USF: Turner was a standout tight end at Griffin High School in Griffin, Georgia, about 60 miles south of Atlanta. Tye was a team captain who averaged over 20 yards per reception, and also lettered for three years on the basketball team. Had offers from Duke, Georgia Souther, Western Kentucky, Marshall, Tennessee State, and Wake Forest.

Recruiting Rankings: Rated as a two-star recruit by Rivals, Scout, and 247, but ESPN had him at three.

Projected Playing Time in 2014: Still a couple of guys ahead of him on the depth chart, but he should see decent playing time used mainly as a blocker.

Fun Fact: Skip Holtz beat out Willie Taggart for Turner's signature back in 2010 when Coach T was still at the reigns in WKU.
