#22 DB Hassan Childs

Sophomore, 6'1",175 lbs.

Stats in 2013: Childs was part of Taggart's group of true Freshman players that received playing time last year. He appeared in six games, starting the final two.  He racked up eight solo tackles, 10 total, and three interceptions (including two in the SMU game).

Spot on 2013 Depth Chart: Finished the year as a starting safety alongside Nate Godwin.

How did he come to USF: Childs comes from Osceola High School in Kissimmee, FL. He signed with USF two days after his official visit and over offers from Cincinnati, FIU, Indiana, NC State, UCF, and Purdue.

Recruiting Rankings: Childs was a three-star recruit across the board as rated by ESPN, Rivals, 247, and Scout.

Projected Playing Time in 2014: Childs should see plenty of playing time this year, whether he holds on to his starting spot or becomes part of a rotation. In the recently released pre-season depth chart, Hassan lost his starting job to Jamie Byrd.

Fun Fact: He committed to USF with his close friend and high school teammate, running back Sta'fon McCray.
