Only Nicolas Munera Days Until USF Football

This local edge rusher could provide depth on the Bulls' defensive line.

#97 DE Nicolas Munera
Redshirt Freshman, 6'5", 220 lbs.

Stats in 2014: Munera did not appear in any games last season and redshirted.

Spot On Spring Depth Chart: Not listed.

How He Came to USF: Nicolas is a local product from King High School in Tampa. Though he's small for a defensive end, he showed a knack for getting to the quarterback, racking up 46 tackles and 3.5 sacks in his last two high school seasons.

Recruiting Rankings: Munera was not listed by any of the major recruiting services.

Projected Playing Time: It's highly unlikely that Nicolas works his way into the defensive line rotation this season, but perhaps he can get some playing time on special teams. Watch his high school tape and you'll see a fast, heady player with a nose for the ball; that's the kind of guy you want chasing down returners. And hey, he's got four years of eligibility and a position (the newly-created "Bull" lineman-linebacker hybrid) that fits his skill set.

Fun Fact: Not only was Nicolas the captain of King's football team, but he also earned a varsity letter in basketball.
