#19 CB Ronnie Hoggins
Freshman, 5'10", 160 lbs.
Spot on Fall Camp Depth Chart: Hoggins is an incoming freshman, so he would not be listed on the 2015 fall depth chart. Not to mention when you consider how seriously deep the Bulls secondary has become over the last three seasons with guys like Nate Godwin, Johnny Ward, Jamie Byrd, Tajee Fullwood, Lamar Robbins, Devin Abraham, Hassan Childs, Mazzi Wilkins and incoming Wisconsin transfer Austin Hudson, there won't be a push to get Hoggins out on the field early.
How He Came to USF: A three-star recruit, Hoggins was named Broward’s 8A Defensive Player of the Year by the Sun Sentinel after intercepting 15 passes in 12 games as a senior and returning four for touchdowns. Hoggins was also named to the FHSAA's 2014 Florida All-State 8A First-Team Defense. Hoggins intercepted 12, yes TWELVE, passes in his first five games as a senior and intercepted a total of 12 passes in his previous two seasons as a starter. Hoggins was coached by Calvin Davis at Monarch High School, with other stud athletes like Shawn Burgess-Becker (Alabama), Jerry Jeudy, Calvin Ridley (Alabama) and Cavin Ridley. The Knights finished the 2014 season 10-2 (6-0) and listed as the No. 32 team in Florida by MaxPreps.
Recruiting Rankings: Hoggins was rated a 85.12 three-star by 247 Sports, three stars by Scout, a three star 73 by ESPN, and 5.70 three star, 37th best cornerback by Rivals. He also received offers from Texas, Louisville, TCU, Temple,Tulane, Wisconsin, Akron, Bowling Green, Charlotte, Cincinnati, FIU, FAU, Marshall, Massachusetts and Ohio.
Projected Playing Time: Hoggins will more than likely redshirt for his first season with the Bulls.
