Only Jaymon Thomas Days Until USF Football

Thomas is an intriguing prospect who's probably bound for a redshirt season.

#18 S Jaymon Thomas
6'3", 180 lbs.

Stats in 2014: Jaymon played last season at Immokalee High School, where he racked up an impressive 124 tackles as a senior.

Spot on Fall Camp Depth Chart: Not listed, along with the majority of his freshman class.

How He Came to USF: Despite his gaudy stats at Immokalee-- and his playing both corner and safety-- Thomas didn't get a lot of attention in his recruitment. He had offers from Illinois and Navy, but committed to USF about a month before National Signing Day.

Recruiting Rankings: Both Rivals and 247 gave Jaymon high two-star ratings.

Projected Playing Time: Almost certainly none. Thomas is probably due for a redshirt season, particularly with all the bodies USF has in the secondary, but he'll have plenty of opportunities to contribute down the line.

Highlights: Here's the tape from Jaymon's senior season. He's rangy and athletic, but definitely a bit of a project. He'd be a good fit at the free safety spot a few seasons down the line.
