Senior Adrian Billhardt had a fantastic final regular season game for USF, scoring twice to give USF a lift over the Tigers. The first goal came in the 20th minute off an assist by junior Freddy Gil to give the Bulls a 1-0 lead going into halftime. Billhardt’s second goal came in the 83rd minute off another Gil assist to give him four goals on the season. Junior Trey Jackson also got in on the fun in the 49th minute on an unassisted goal for his third of the season.
Memphis did get one back late, as Peter Chang slotted one into the back of the net. USF got out-shot by Memphis 12-9, but Senior goalkeeper Harrison Devenish-Meares recorded four saves on the evening to limit the Tigers’ opportunities to get back into the game.
With this victory, and SMU defeating Temple in overtime up in Philly, the Bulls found themselves at the no. 3 seed heading into the conference tournament. With that placement, USF will host UConn on Saturday, November 9th at 7 PM at Corbett Stadium. The winner will face SMU in the semi-finals.
