ICYMI, USF football picked up another defensive transfer on Wednesday with Wofford defensive tackle Thad Mangum announcing his intention to wrap up his collegiate career in Tampa.

An all-state product from Christ Church Episcopal School in Greenville, SC, Mangum committed to nearby Wofford where after redshirting as a true freshman in 2015, he appeared in 37 games and made 14 starts for the Terriers through four seasons. His most productive season came during his junior campaign in 2018, where he amassed 51 tackles, six tackles for loss, three sacks and two fumble recoveries to earn Second Team All-SoCon honors.

Mangum started Wofford’s 2019 season opener against South Carolina State before a knee injury sidelined him for the rest of the season. After receiving a sixth-year of eligibility, he opted to enter the transfer portal in March.

The South Carolinian will provide more depth to an interior defensive front featuring returning contributors like Blake Green, Kevin Kegler and Kelvin Pinkney.
