Students, Do Not Give Your USF Tickets To FSU Fans

This weekend's USF-FSU game is sold out, but does that mean Raymond James will be pouring out with green and gold? FSU students and fans held the line three years ago (see picture above). So should you.

Let’s take a trip down memory lane for a minute; back to fall of 2009… September 26th to be exact. Back to that glorious day when the University of South Florida traveled to Tallahassee to take on the Seminoles for the first time with their redshirt freshman quarterback, B.J. Daniels. It may have only been three short years ago, but to me it feels like a decade. However, I do remember it like yesterday; everything from the long road trip to Tally with my brother and friends, to waking up early to start tailgating for that noon kickoff, down to the sweet victory that came along with it.

Of all the things I remember (and even those things I may not) one thing is for sure, USF fans were proud of their win in Doak Campbell Stadium and stayed to show their support for the Bulls even after the three-hour game, in 90+ degree weather. You could hear the enthusiasm & excitement from the visitor sections we were confined to.

Did you read that… VISITOR SECTIONS. Trust me when I tell you that no Seminoles were allowing South Florida fans to sit in their seats for such a huge "rivalry." Not a single FSU student would dream of selling their ticket to a Bulls fan. Oh and let’s not forget no one is crazy enough to attend FSU and rock a USF tee in their student section.

So what’s the moral to this long story from 2009? DON’T BE THAT GUY/GIRL! Do not… I repeat, DO NOT show up on Saturday and sit in the USF student sporting garnet and gold. While you’re at it, no matter how upset you may be with the Bulls/Skip Holtz, DO NOT sell your student ticket to an FSU fan! And last, but certainly not least, I don’t care how tight you were in high school, DO NOT get your FSU buddies a guest ticket, or one of your friends student tickets. They can go buy them on StubHub like everyone else.

It’s kind of pathetic I had to dedicate an entire post to this, but I know it’s going to happen. It really is, it happens all the time. I can’t even begin to tell you how many times I’d be in class at USF and see the person sitting in front of me wearing a Seminoles/Gators hat. Things like that make me want to stab my eyes out.

Kickoff is at 6:00pm on Saturday, and you need to make sure you're there to cheer on your Bulls… WIN OR LOSE. Don’t be that USF fan sitting at home on your couch, thinking that it looks like we're back in Doak Campbell Stadium with all that garnet & gold. You will know it is entirely your fault for selling those tickets to your FSU friends.

Which brings me to my next point, if you haven’t read the Voodoo Five post titled "USF Football Games Do Not Wait for Your Tailgate to End"; I suggest doing so now. Saturday’s game is at 6 P-M. That’s approximately six hours after the kickoff of the last FSU-USF game. Seminole fans didn't seem to have a problem filling up their stadium before kickoff that day. There should be absolutely no excuses as to why you weren't there for kickoff. PLAN ACCORDINGLY.

Now that you understand all the things you should and shouldn’t do for Saturday’s game, please pass it along to your friends so you don’t show up to the game with that guy or that girl.
