Bulls Land DE Rohan Blackwood, Four-Star '15 RB Karan Higdon: The Heartbreak Kid Approves

This counts as a big recruiting day

Willie Taggart's phone was ringing big time today, and he was blowing up his Twitter account too after landing two solid recruits.

Go Bulls!<a href="https://twitter.com/search?q=%23DreamTeam&amp;src=hash">#DreamTeam</a></p>&mdash; Willie Taggart (@CoachTaggart) <a href="https://twitter.com/CoachTaggart/statuses/427561758455500800">January 26, 2014</a></blockquote>

Rohan Blackwood, a 6'5 210 lb WDE out of Nature Coast Tech committed to the Bulls 2014 class on Sunday. Blackwood was previously committed to Wisconsin, but opened up his availability again and now has decided to head to Fowler Ave. after his official visit last weekend. Blackwood is a high 3 star recruit according to all the services, and had offers from Nebraska, Cinci, and FIU as well.

Also the long-term future of USF got a bit brighter too as 4 star RB Karan Higdon also verbaled the Bulls as a member of the Class of 2015. The Sarasota Riverview junior had offers from Tennessee, Iowa, Kentucky, Wake Forest, and others as well. Higdon is apparently a burner, and could be a key guy as the Bulls look to build on the already-sharp increase in recruiting they've seen under Coach T.

As today is the Royal Rumble, we take you back to the 1995 version of the WWF's annual "Thirty Men Enter, One Man Leaves" over-the-top-rope-and-you-lose event. It took place in our own beloved Sun Dome, and saw the first two men in the ring as The Heartbreak Kid Shawn Michaels, and Davey Boy Smith, one half of The British Bulldogs.

In a finish as realistic as can be, it of course came down to HBK and Union Jack Power as the final two combatants. But just as it looked as though Davey Boy had won by throwing Michaels over the top (they even started playing Bulldog's theme song as he ascended the turnbuckles to the adoring crowd), the replay showed that only one of Michaels' feet touched the ground. Michaels managed to hang onto a ring rope, pulled himself back into the ring, and then shoved Smith from behind while in the air to take the crown.

It was a really impressive athletic maneuver and sell job from Michaels, and his never say die spirit helped him to win the day (we're such marks around here). Just like how Coach Taggart's never-say-die attitude on a recruit that had committed to the B1G in August helped him become a winner at the end.

And what was part of HBK's reward for his win? He'd be escorted to the ring by an in-her-prime Pamela Anderson at his upcoming title match.

Karan Higdon could be the first 4-star recruit Taggart that will have landed at USF.

Never give up, USF coaching staff. Never, ever give up.
