Stampeding The 2014 USF Football Roster - Make-Up Day

In which we get caught up on some profiles we missed.

Kim Klement-USA TODAY Sports

Greetings, football fans!

Today was supposed to be the preview for linebacker CJ Garye, but stupid me launched the post a week early, and it appeared out of numerical order.

Since there's now no player scheduled for today, we thought this would be a good time to review the roster countdown, and see if we missed anyone. Turns out, we did. And some important players, too.

First, punter Mattias Ciabatti. His article ran, but I don't think it ever appeared on the front page of the site. If you missed it, you can read it at this link.

We also missed DL Elkino Watson, one of our best players and probably the nose tackle in the new 3-4; LB Auggie Sanchez, the star of the spring game; and kicker Emilio Nadelman, who was also impressive this spring. We will get their profiles posted as soon as possible.

We also thought this would be a good time to catch you up on everyone who left the team. Below is the list of players who did not return from last year's team, and their current whereabouts if known:

The players with no transfer destination listed were all originally walk-ons, and may need to re-earn their place on the roster.

The only mystery here is what happened with Ruben Gonzalez. Greg Auman tweeted on April 4:

Despite this, Gonzalez remained on the gousfbulls.com roster until recently. Not sure if this was a clerical oversight, or if things were going on behind the scenes to try and get him reinstated. But Gonzalez is no longer on the roster, so we're going to conclude he has left the program. He hasn't surfaced at any other school that we know of.

We'll cover all the freshmen closer to the start of the season. By then we'll know their jersey numbers, which ones didn't make it to campus, and which ones might play as true freshmen.

If we missed anybody - again - please let us know in the comments.
