Time for the first new face in the countdown:
#95 DT Marlon Gonzalez
Redshirt Freshman, 6'4", 280 lbs.
2015 Stats: None. Marlon took his redshirt year and bulked up for the transition from defensive end (his high school position) to defensive tackle.
Position On Depth Chart: Not listed on the post-spring depth chart.
How He Came To USF: Gonzalez started at Island Coast High School in Cape Coral and initially committed to FSU as a sophomore. He later decommitted and changed high schools, finishing up at North Fort Myers High School, where he was named to Florida's all-state Class 5A team as a senior. Marlon had plenty of bigger schools interested (reportedly Arizona, Louisville, and Missouri all offered scholarships) but only needed one official visit to know he wanted to sign with the Bulls. He committed in August 2014 and enrolled as part of the 2015 recruiting class.
Recruiting Rankings: Marlon was a three-star recruit at ESPN, 247, and Rivals.
Projected Playing Time: With a number of interesting but untested options, defensive tackle might be the most wide-open position on the team. Even though Marlon isn't listed in the two-deep coming out of spring, it wouldn't be a surprise if he found a way into the rotation.
Follow Him On... Marlon's on Twitter at @swaggdaddy_24. We tried to figure out if he's on Instagram, but couldn't find him. If you want to try, be aware that there are a lot of dudes named Marlon Gonzalez there.
Fun Fact: Marlon is the first member of his family to go to college. In the Fort Myers News-Press article linked above, he said one factor in choosing USF was that his mother can come up to watch his home games.
