USF Alumni Association Bulls Block Party Coming August 20

Get your tickets and come enjoy the culture of Ybor City.

Your USF Alumni Association is throwing a big party two weeks before football starts to help you get prepared for the season. The Bulls Block Party happens Saturday, August 20 in beautiful, historic, and really-kind-of-awesome-during-daylight-hours Ybor City.

"There are other Florida university alumni chapters doing similar events in the Tampa area, and there's no reason why USF shouldn't be one of them," said Zach Pietrzyk, former USF baseball pitcher and now Tampa Alumni Chapter volunteer and national alumni board member. "We want this event to have a community type feel to it, where students (over 21 years old), alumni, facility, and friends of the university can partake in to get excited for the upcoming football season."

"We're trying to create a gameday-like atmosphere in Ybor City."

The release from the USF Alumni Association is in full below. You can register for the event here, and you can also buy us a drink at any of the participating establishments. We'll be there and we know them well.

The Bulls stampede Ybor City for a Bulls Block Party on August 20. Registration includes access to specials at several Ybor establishments, a coozie and a chance to win great prizes at the last stop of the party.

The schedule for the Block Party is:
1:30pm-2:30pm - Registration at the Italian Club (1731 E. 7th Ave. Tampa, FL 33605)
2:30pm-3:30pm - Double Decker/Bad Monkey
3:30pm-4:30pm - Big Easy
4:30pm-5:30pm - Coyote Ugly
5:30pm - Gaspars Grotto

The last stop will also feature special USF guests and prize drawings.

Early Bird Registration: $10
Registration: $15 July 16 and after
Day of registration: $20 onsite

Proceeds from this event support the Greater Tampa Area Alumni Chapter and the Bulls Club.

So buy your cheap tickets now before the price goes up and get this on your calendar. I know FSU and UF both do big bar crawls in Tampa at this same time of year, and it's time the Bulls get in on this and claim their hometown as well.

Any questions fire away in the comments and we'll get someone to answer. But this should be a helluva lot of fun, and the staff of this humble website (or at least those in town) will be out there representing as well.

Booze, football, Bulls... seems like the perfect event for our demographic, eh?
