6’ 0”, 175 pounds
Miami Carol City High School
Culpepper joins Nick Roberts and Bentlee Sanders in the 2017 class, providing depth and skill at the cornerback position. He lists himself as a S/CB on his Twitter page, so either way the Bulls get reinforcements. Head coach Charlie Strong and defensive backs coach and Recruiting Coordinator Corey Bell worked their Miami Magic to land him. With the graduation of Nate Godwin, Johnny Ward and Jalen Spencer, there’s potential for playing time as a true freshman. According to ESPN, Culpepper ran a 4.74 40-yard dash.
Carol City produced safety Kenny Phillips, wide receivers Santana and Sinorice Moss and Allen Hurns.
RECRUITING RATINGS: 3-Star by 247, Rivals and ESPN. 0.8715 Composite by 247.
ALSO CONSIDERED: It came down to Maryland and USF, and defensive backs coach Corey Bell helped make a big late push to get Culpepper committed to the Bulls. He had offers from Michigan State, Oregon, South Carolina, Arkansas, and Tennessee, among others.
