As spring football practice gets underway for Charlie Strong and USF, they have added another late addition to their 2017 recruiting class, pulling in three-star JUCO defensive end Josh Allen from Long Beach City College.

RECRUITING RATINGS: 3-Star by 247, Rivals, and ESPN. 0.8681 Composite by 247.
Spending multiple seasons on the junior college circuit, the Torrance native racked up 88 tackles, 29 TFLs, 9.5 sacks, and four forced fumbles during his career at Long Beach City College. He was the #5 ranked JUCO strong side DE in the country, and the #35 JUCO prospect overall.
Allen originally committed to Arizona last year but never made it to Tuscon. In this recruiting cycle, the Cali native was being courted by the likes of Houston, Iowa State, and Florida Atlantic before making his official visit to Tampa this past weekend and ultimately deciding on USF.

Should Allen be eligible and available for the fall, he’d no doubt be a huge addition for a pass rush being reconstructed by new defensive coordinator Brian Jean-Mary and new defensive ends coach Damon Cogdell.
