It’s the 25th ever USF football homecoming game, and the team is wearing some throwback duds. I have quite a collection of old school USF gear, so I thought I’d take the opportunity to show off my authentic 1997 USF road football jersey. I have baseball and basketball ones too. I actually tried to buy #96, because that was my graduation year, but #97 works better in retrospect. USF used to have only two jerseys and one helmet style, can you believe that?
Actually, the helmet being used this weekend is a new one. It combines USF’s turn-of-the-century “Robogoat” logo with the modern “God’s Helmet” oversized gold on white design:

USF may not win this weekend, but at least we’ll look good. And lots of past USF football greats will be in attendance, like Marquel Blackwell. Unfortunately, he is an assistant coach for Houston.
