Stampeding the 2014 USF Roster - #76 LT Darrell Williams

New, comments

The guy who will protect the blindside of USF's starting QB (whoever that will be).

Al Messerschmidt

Whether the starting QB is Mike White or Steven Bench, this is the guy who will provide protection to the blindside.

#76 LT Darrell Williams
Senior, 6'5" 303 lbs

Stats in 2013: Williams started all 12 games at left tackle, and was on the field for the third most plays on offense (34)

Spot on 2013 Depth Chart: Darrell was first string at left tackle.

How did he come to USF: Before he arrived at Orlando Evans HS, from Jamaica, Darrell didn't know anything about football. He left high school as an all-Central Florida lineman as a senior.

Recruiting Rankings: Darrell was rated three stars both Rivals and Scout, and had offers from seven other schools including Florida State and South Carolina.

Projected Playing Time: He'll be starting at left tackle.

Fun Fact: He originally played basketball when he came to the U.S. from Jamaica. Back then, when he was under 250 lbs., he could dunk. Now that he's up over 3-bills, I wonder if he can still dunk?
