#51 LB Tashon Whitehurst
Junior, 6'3", 215 lbs.

Stats in 2013: Played in 10 games, mostly on special teams. Had six tackles on the season

Where was he on the 2013 Depth Chart: #2 strongside linebacker behind Reshard Cliett.

How did he Come to USF: Tashon went to Gainesville High school, where he was an all-state player and also was voted a team captain. He had 331 tackles over 3 seasons at Gainesville. He originally committed to Syracuse, be pulled his commitment with the Orange and stayed closer to home to sign with USF.

Recruiting Rankings: Whitehurst was rated two stars by Scout, and three stars by Rivals.

Projected Playing Time: With middle linebacker DeDe Lattimore graduating, there will be some shuffling in the linebacker corps, so that might offer some more playing time for Whitehurst. He'll probably still be behind Cliett on the strongside, but if Cliett replaces Lattimore, Whitehurst could start at SAM.

Fun Fact: He had a blocked punt in 2012 against FSU.
