High School: Dunnellon High School, Dunnellon, FL
Recruiting Rankings (for now): NR on 247 or Rivals.
Other Notable Offers: Kentucky, C., Tulane
Ocala Primary Recruiter: Kerwin Bell.
AJ Hamilton is a speedy, two-way player for the Dunnellon Tigers, who helped lead his team to a state semifinal appearance, where they lost to the eventual state champion Raines High School. His speed on the defensive side of the ball allows him to recover quickly and keep himself in good position to play the ball. He has great pursuit angles and form on tackling.
Having experience on both sides of the ball will help him with play recognition on the defensive side. The coaching staff can definitely utilize him as a corner, putting him in the best possible position to use his speed and strength. I’d also love to see him return punts, as I think his ability to turn a corner and make guys miss can make him lethal on special teams.
