Only Juwuan Brown Days Until USF Football Season

After completing a position change in the spring, #56 looks ready to finally see some playing time this year.

#56 DE Juwuan Brown
Redshirt Sophomore, 6'2", 250 lbs.

2015 Stats: Brown did not play last year. This past spring, when Brown was making the transition from linebacker to full-time defensive end, Willie Taggart hinted at his conditioning having been an issue, but we don't really know why he didn't get on the field.

Position on Depth Chart: After a promising spring, Brown is listed as the backup left defensive end, behind Kirk Livingstone.

How He Came To USF: Juwuan played at nearby Jefferson High School in Tampa. He was named to the Class 6A all-state second team after a prolific (to say the least) senior season with 77 tackles, 31 tackles for loss, 12 sacks, and an interception he returned for a touchdown.

Here is Brown's senior highlight reel:

No, seriously, this is his highlight reel:

Brown had offers from Louisville, Kentucky, Indiana, and Illinois, but he committed to USF in July 2013 and stuck with it even through the Bulls' awful season, all the way through to his emotional signing day ceremony.

Recruiting Rankings: Rivals and 247 gave Brown two stars. Scout and ESPN gave him three.

Projected Playing Time: Brown should finally get some playing time this year, but remember USF has a couple of JUCO defensive ends who haven't arrived on campus yet and therefore aren't on the depth chart. Depending on how ready they are to contribute this year, it might cut into Brown's reps. He might also get some special teams time.
