New South Florida Bulls head coach Jeff Scott got more good news Monday evening when three-star wide receiver Sincere Brown out of First Baptist School in South Carolina announced that he’ll be signing with USF over App State, where he’d been a commitment since July 2019.

First Baptist School (Charleston, SC)

Recruiting Rankings: Three-star by 247 (0.8065 Composite Score), two-star by Rivals

Other Notable Offers: App State, Coastal Carolina, Liberty

Brown comes to Tampa after recording 52 catches for 1,265 yards, and 14 touchdowns as a senior for the Hurricanes as they went 8-4 in 2019. He also added two interceptions as a safety this year.

The lanky receiver had been committed to App State for over six months before Scott, and company came calling. After watching his senior year highlights, it’s obvious what USF saw in Brown: Height (duh), shiftiness, leaping ability, and straight-line speed.

Brown’s former teammate Michel Dukes signed with Clemson as a running back in 2019.

It doesn’t appear that Brown will run away from defenders at the college level, but in short spaces, he has enough moves to make the first man miss and still gain positive yards. His best skill is the ability to high-point the ball in the air and come down with it (see very first highlight). His skills will play well in the red zone for the Bulls.
