USF’s coaching staff continues to add depth to a position of need in the trenches with the commitment of Savannah Jenkins High School defensive tackle Jacquez Williams.

Joining Lennard’s Jhalin Hobbs, Carrollwood’s Desmond Mamudi, and Fort Myers’ Keeon Terrell, Williams becomes the fourth defensive linemen commit this recruiting cycle.

Earning First-Team All-Region 3-3A honors and making an appearance on the All-Greater Savannah Defensive Team this past season, Williams shined on a powerhouse Jenkins team that went 12-2 and made a state semi-finals appearance. The stud junior registered 54 tackles, 22 tackles for loss, 6.5 sacks, and two forced fumbles as he showed off his speed and power along the defensive line.

That speed payed off during a 59-8 thumping over Johnson High School, where Williams had a fumble recovery for a touchdown on a botched snap.
