Special teams coach Daniel Da Prato received even more good news in the class of 2021 recruiting cycle with the top kicker in the state of South Carolina announcing his commitment to USF football.

K Will Fowler

6’0, 175 lbs

Spartanburg High School, Spartanburg, South Carolina

Recruiting Rankings: Two-star by Rivals, NR by 247, Four-star by Kohl’s Kicking, Five-Star on ChrisSailerKicking

Other notable offers: Clemson, Alabama, East Carolina, West Virginia, North Carolina

Consistency in the kicking game has eluded USF the last few years, and as a result there’s been a revolving door of players having kick off and place kicking duties for the green and gold. With Will Fowler and fellow commit John Cannon, the Bulls should be set for both responsibilities and show depth at a key position on the football field.

Fowler performed both kick off duties for Spartanburg and constantly placed the ball deep in the end zone, with strong hang times averaging at least 4 seconds, giving his coverage team plenty of time. In a covid-shortened season, Fowler hit 27 touchbacks on 38 kick offs. He also went three-for-three on extra points his senior year.
