Other Notable Offers: East Carolina, LSU, Washington State, Florida State

After collecting a scorching 146 rush yards per game last season for the Vernon Yellowjackets, K’Wan Powell started getting plenty of attention, resulting in offers from some notable Power 5 programs.

However, the speedy back from the panhandle decided to commit to Jeff Scott and USF. Powell accumulated over 1,700 yards last season on 184 carries, and 30 total touchdowns as he helped his Vernon team make a Regional Finals playoff appearance in class 1A.

Running a 4.77 verified 40 at The Opening Regional in February of 2019, it appears Powell got much faster over the summer, as his Hudl film is filled with him burning through defenses. His power and ability to shake arm tackles continued to be on display as he uses his vision to find holes in his offensive line.
